Joshua's 8th Birthday

My youngest is now 8. He celebrated his 8th birthday a week or so ago. We had a party at the house for him. He invited friends from school and a neighbor friend. He wanted to invite a lot, but I gave him a limit. As you will see in the pictures- he mainly has girl friends. It was really cute when it was time for them to give him his gift because I asked them to say one thing they liked about Josh. I loved hearing their responses. One said, "He's the best friend a girl could ever have". Another said, "He's so nice". The boy said, " I like Josh because he always invites me to his parties". They also had to pop a balloon and they loved that. We played some real fun games. I had a blast watching their excitement. Awww the innocence of youth...how fleeting. It was refreshing being surrounded by 7, soon to be 8 year olds. The party was a success.
Costco Cake...delicious!

Time to sing Happy Birthday

We played a fun game and this was the end result.

Drawing silly faces on balloons waiting for all the friends to arrive

Posing with the birthday boy

They loved this game

Catching up...

I have mentioned in many posts about my missionary trainer that lives next door...literally.
Well, I finally have a picture of us together. Her name is Bobbie Jo. We served together in Roy, UT. Yup...just up the road a ways. My kids and her kids are friends, and so are we, of course. Who knew? Small world when you serve a mission in Utah and come back to live in Utah.

-doTERRA moment-
doTERRA Melaleuca essential oil- This oil is good for lots of skin disorders as well as for ear infections. Joshua gets pressure sores every once in a while from his orthotics (leg braces). Before the oils I used to use various medicated creams to try and help with the healing of the sore. It would take at least one month to scab up and start healing. I used Melaleuca for a very bad pressure sore once and it only took 3 days to scab up and start healing. I couldn't believe it.

Melaleuca also has analgesic, antibacterial, anti fungal, and anti-infectious properties... a win win situation. I personally have used it for an ear infection. I could feel an ear infection coming on so I put drops of Melaleuca oil on a cotton ball and taped it to my ear. Well.. I actually felt more pain for the next 16 hours after that because it was drawing out whatever was causing the infection. It was working to rid of the problem instead of just treating the symptoms. When I woke up the next morning my ear was fine. Next time I'll be smart and rub lavender oil around my ear to calm the pain. Until next time...

Happy New Year!

Happy New Year!
The sun is shining over here and it's a beautiful wintry day. We had a blast at our annual ward Jump on It! party this morning. Now every one's just chillin' watching a movie. It's nice to have a slow day to reflect on life and all the blessings I have. I am such a lucky girl. I almost have it all...just missing my other half! But while I'm waiting for him... life goes on and LIFE IS OH SO GOOD.

Last night we went to my next door neighbor's house (who happens to be my missionary trainer), and had a great time visiting and eating delicious food. I left about 8:45pm and the boys stayed with their family to ring in the New Year. A single friend and I went to a New Year's Eve Bash for LDS mid-singles. I haven't had that much fun in a very long time. At first I felt awkward, but as the night went on I loosened up and really had a blast. I even had fun dancing. It was cool to actually be awake, for once, to countdown and celebrate. There were about 2,000 balloons that dropped from the ceiling and it sounded like fireworks when everyone started popping them. I am so glad I went and allowed myself to have some fun...it's good for the soul. My friend took some pictures on her phone. When she emails them to me I will post them. I needed proof for myself that I was there because it felt surreal.

As promised... a little tid bit about one of doTERRA's essential oils that has helped me.
I am an early riser, always have been. Since I started homeschooling I've had to get up EXTRA early so that I can exercise before all the kids get up. I no longer have the luxury of exercising at 9:30 in the morning because I have 2 homeschoolers. I now get up at 5:30am to be at my 6:00am exercise class at the Rec. Center. I can hear some of you cringing at the early hour. Some wouldn't be caught dead getting up that early. Nevertheless, exercise is very important to me so the sacrifice is worth it to me. Initially I needed some help with grogginess upon awaking. Peppermint oil has helped tremendously with this factor. I put a couple drops on my forefinger and then stick it inside my nostrils. Within seconds I feel more alert and ready to go. Peppermint is known for many life enhancing properties, and mental alertness is one of them. Also, when I am having an afternoon slump around 3:00pm, I just inhale some peppermint and wild orange oil and wa- la I am rejuvenated. It's so much healthier than using a caffeine product to stimulate the senses, and there's no crashing after like with caffeine. It's a healthier, natural alternative and I love it.

Have a Healthy, Happy, Prosperous New Year!!!
Love,
The Navarro/Conder Family
